8 More Die of COVID, JK toll 500

Srinagar, Aug 12 : Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday touched 500 mark as eight more persons died of COVID-19.


An official told Kashmir Despatch that eight more persons became victim of this deadly virus on Wednesday.


He said among 3 from Srinagar, 2 from Kupwara, a resident of Sopore, and one each fromPulwama and Ganderbal.


The officer said  a 70-year-old man from Lal Bazar,  a 60-year-old man from Nawabazar, and a 68-year-old-man from Rainawari were reported from Srinagar District.


An 80-year-old woman from Waspora Murran, a 60-year-old man from died at SKIMS Soura, a 65-year-old COPD patient from Baktoor village of Gurez died on the way to the hospital and a 47-year-old man from Langate became fresh victims of this virus.


With these deaths, officials said, 500 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir so far—463 from the Valley and 37 from Jammu division.
