Srinagar, May 20 : The Wednesday ended on a sad note for the residents of north Kashmir’s Baramulla as 8 more tested positive for COVID-19 among 74 today in Kashmir Division.
Professor Farooq Jan, medical superintendent SKIMS Soura, while sharing today’s COVID-19 summary to Kashmir Despatch said 44 people have tested positive today at SKIMs include, 17 from Jammu, 14 from Srinagar, 8 from Baramulla, 4 from Kupwara and one from Pulwama.
Dr. Salim Khan, nodal officer for COVID-19 at the Government Medical College, Srinagar earleir this day told this newspaper that 17 testsd positive today at CD hospital include Eight from Jammu while seven are from Anantnag and two pregnant women from Kulgam—28-year-old from Khudwani and 35-year-old from Chatawan area of the southern Kashmir district.
Meanwhile Jammu again witneesed rapid growth in COVID-19 positive cases as today 13 more cases were report from GMC Jammu.
Pertinently, A 40-year-old woman, a Covid-19 patient, from Bijbhera Anantnag died at SKIMS Soura late last night, making her the 18th victim of the novel coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Srinagar district has reported 5 of the deaths, highest in any district, followed by Baramulla 4, Anantnag 4 while one death each has been reported in Bandipora, Budgam, Kulgam, Udhampur, and Jammu.
