Sopore, Oct 21 : A 12-year-old boy allegedly ended his life by jumping into the river Jehlum in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Wednesday evening.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a class 8th student identified as Shahid Nazir Changal son of Nazir Ahmad Changal of Ahadbab crossing jumped into the river from bypass bridge late this evening.

According to sources the boy had some issue with family, left home and then called them and shared his location, then after family reached to the spot he jumped into river jehlum sources added.

Meanwhile station house officer Sopore Azim Iqbal told Kashmir Despatch that a team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation to retrieve the body from the jehlum. He said SDRF team has also been called.
