9 more die of COVID, JK toll rises to 577

Srinagar, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported nine fresh COVID related deaths, taking the fatalities toll to 577.


An official told Kashmir Despatch that nine more persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.


He said among the fatalities including a 72-year-old man from Sabdan Budgam, a 60-year-old woman from Peerzoo Srinagar, a 57-year-old man from Buchpora Srinagar, a 43-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar, a 65-year-old man from Tangmarg Baramulla, a 75-year-old woman from Sajad Abad Chattabal Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Shalteng Srinagar, a 55-year-old woman from Rainawari Srinagar and an 80-year-old man from Tanghdar.


With these fresh COVID fatalities, the toll rose to 577 in Jammu and Kashmir.
