SRINAGAR, Mar 10: A mobile charging station has been set up at the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital here, providing much-needed relief to patients and their attendants who often struggle to keep their devices charged while in the hospital.

The mobile charging station was inaugurated by the hospital administration on Wednesday, March 08, 2023. The station, located in the hospital’s waiting area, consists of multiple charging points that are compatible with various types of mobile phones and other electronic devices.

Dr. Muzzafar Zargar, Medical Superintendent SMHS Hospital said that the hospital has installed over 15 new charging stations for electronic devices. These charging stations were all installed by Jammu and Kashmir Bank, with the installation process completed yesterday.

“The charging stations are strategically placed throughout the hospital, with a focus on the waiting areas where patients and visitors spend a significant amount of time. With the new charging stations, individuals will be able to easily and conveniently charge their electronic devices while they wait, without the worry of their devices running out of battery.”

The charging station has been welcomed by patients and attendants, who expressed their gratitude towards the hospital administration for this “thoughtful” initiative. “I have been waiting here for the last four hours, and my phone’s battery was almost dead. This charging station is a lifesaver for me,” said a patient from Anantnag.

The installation of the mobile charging station at SMHS Hospital is expected to set an example for other hospitals in the region to follow, as it provides a much-needed convenience to patients and their attendants during their hospital visits. (KNO)
