BANDIPORA, Mar 10: Hailing from Bandipora district of North Kashmir, Sabkat Malik is a 20 year old girl ready to represent the country at international level in Martial Arts.

“My journey started when I was in class 6th. I have already played 9 Nationals and I am also a gold medalist in this field. I recently got a chance to participate in an International event at Bangkok where fortunately I was ranked at 9th position. I will be now representing my country at  Mongolia,” Sabkat added.

She also stressed upon the fact that in times when women have been empowered in every field, still there are people who taunt girls whenever they go out in the field and try to achieve their goals. “When I came into this field, my father was being trolled and told that your daughter is wasting her time to and won’t achieve anything but now those people are mere spectators,” she further added.

Sabkat’s trainer also heaped praises on the girl and said that its her hardwork and dedication that has made her capable of achieving great things against all odds.

“She is a girl with full dedication and her consistency is the key of her success. We are very proud of what she has achieved so far and we will be there for her at every step and we hope that she makes us proud wherever she participates,” added Mohd Ibrahim, Sabkat’s trainer at the club.
