India to Host First-Ever Global Buddhist Summit in New Delhi

Date:

Srinagar, April 05: India is all set to host the first-ever Global Buddhist Summit on 20-21 April 2023 in New Delhi.

The two-day event, organized by the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), will witness the participation of eminent scholars, Sangha leaders, and Dharma practitioners from all over the world to discuss the pressing global issues of the present day.

The theme of the summit is “Responses to Contemporary Challenges from Philosophy to Praxis.” It aims to explore the Buddhist Dharma’s universal values and find answers to issues related to peace, environmental crisis, health, and sustainability. The summit will also focus on the preservation of the Nalanda Buddhist tradition, which played a significant role in shaping diverse spiritual and philosophical traditions.
The summit will also highlight the importance of the Buddha Dharma Pilgrimage, living heritage, and Buddha Relics, which have been the resilient foundation of India’s centuries-old cultural links with countries in South, Southeast, and East Asia.
The event will take place at the Ashok Hotel in New Delhi, and it is expected to witness a significant turnout of scholars, leaders, and practitioners from across the world. The summit’s objective is to provide a platform for open dialogue and discussion to address the challenges that the world is currently facing. With its rich Buddhist heritage, India is the perfect destination to host such a global event and showcase the relevance of the Buddhist philosophy in the present times.
The first-ever Global Buddhist Summit will be a milestone event that will set the stage for future dialogue and collaboration between the Buddhist community worldwide. (KNS)
