Baramulla, Jun 27 : A day after President Municipal Council Baramulla Touseef Raina was ousted after losing the floor test following a no-confidence motion moved against him, a scuffle broke out between the councilors and employees at the MC office here. The employees accused the councilors of using “unparliamentary” language.
An official while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) alleged that three councilors forcibly entered the premises of the Municipal Council Baramulla office and verbally abused the officials present there.
He said the Executive Officer sought FIR against Omar Azhar Kakroo, Mudasir Ahmed Tantray and Zahoor Ahmed Gojree for damaging public property.
“Not only did they engage in abusive behavior, but they also went as far as damaging the government property within the office,” the official alleged. “Subjected to harsh language, the employees were compelled to close the office and initiated a protest strike.”
The application seeking FIR against three councilors is in the possession of KNO. It reads, “Immediate necessary legal proceedings by lodging an FIR shall be initiated and the matter may be treated as most urgent.”
Confirming the incident, a police official said both parties have filed applications seeking FIR—(KNO)
