NIA seizes six properties of JeM militant in Kashmir terror inflitration crackdown

Srinagar, May 08 : In a major crackdown on terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached six immovable properties belonging to a top militant of the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist outfit.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll, The properties, which are located in Mirpora, Pulwama, were attached under Section 33 (1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

He said this is a significant action that targets the financial assets of terrorists and disrupts their support structures.

The case relates to the transportation of terrorists, infiltration into Kashmir from across the border, and the seizure of arms, explosives etc. from JeM terror operatives. NIA’s investigations have exposed the conspiracy by the accused to provide safe shelter and logistical support to the infiltrated terrorists for carrying out attacks against security forces and the government.

This crackdown is part of the NIA’s continued efforts to dismantle the terror infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. Till now, the agency has attached 109 properties in the union territory under the provisions of the UAPA. This demonstrates the government’s strong resolve to choke the funding sources of terrorism and combat the menace effectively.

The attachment of these six properties belonging to the top JeM militant is an important victory in the fight against terrorism and will significantly impact the terror group’s operational capabilities in the region he added.
