SRINAGAR, Jan 4: The elder sister of Ayaz Hafiz Gani, Editor-in-Chief of Rising Kashmir, passed away on Friday at a hospital in New Delhi after a brief illness. She had been on ventilator support before succumbing to her condition, leaving the family and acquaintances deeply shocked.
Her mortal remains were flown to Srinagar on Saturday and laid to rest at the family’s ancestral graveyard. The funeral witnessed the participation of hundreds, including relatives, friends, and well-wishers, who gathered to pay their final respects and offer condolences to the grieving family.
The loss has evoked sympathy from various quarters, with individuals from different walks of life expressing their solidarity with Ayaz Hafiz Gani and his family during this time of grief.
In a heartfelt message, Syed Basharat Bukhari, Editor-in-Chief of Kashmir Despatch, expressed profound sorrow over the demise. Sharing in the pain of the bereaved family, Bukhari prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and courage for the family to bear this irreparable loss.
