Panchayat polls: 100 year old woman casts her vote in Uri village

A one hundred year old women Roshi Begum wife of Mohammad Gazi cast her vote at a polling station in Razerwani area of Uri in district Baramulla in the first phase of the panchayat elections on Saturday.

The old woman was lent a helping hand by her son and daughter to reach the polling booth set up near her house in a government school.
Despite her ailments she came to the polling station to cast her vote to see an end to abject her poverty. Visibly looking very fragile, however, it did not stop her to exercise her franchise.

It may be mentioned that the 1st phase of panchayat elections commenced today in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
