In a speedy and significant judgement, the Special Judge (NDPS), Bareilly, vide judgment dated 26.09.2025, has sentenced an accused Satish Kumar to 12 years Rigorous Imprisonment and a fine of ₹1,00,000 under Sections 08/18/29 of the NDPS Act, 1985, in connection with NCB Crime No. 10/24 involving the seizure of 4 kg Opium.
The case dates back to 07.03.2024, when acting on specific intelligence, the NCB Lucknow Zonal Unit intercepted one Satish Kumar at Subhash Nagar, Bareilly (U.P.) and recovered 4 kg opium from his possession. He was arrested the same day.
After a thorough investigation, a formal complaint was filed before the Hon’ble Court on 17.08.2024. The trial involved examination of five prosecution witnesses, culminating in conviction on 26.09.2025.
