Srinagar, June 6: Amid evolving political developments in Jammu and Kashmir, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday chaired a high-level meeting of senior party leaders at her residence in Khimber on the outskirts of Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by PDP Vice President Mohd Sartaj Madni, Parliamentary Board Chairman A.R. Veeri, General Secretary (Organisation) Ghulam Nabi Hanjura, Chief Spokesperson Mehboob Beg, General Secretaries Khurshid Alam and Abdul Haq Khan, senior leaders Naeem Akhtar, Basharat Bukhari, Mansoor Hussain and Yasir Reshi, besides party legislators Rafiq Ahmad Naik, Fayaz Ahmad Mir and Waheed Para.
According to party sources, the leadership reviewed organisational affairs and deliberated on recent political developments in Jammu and Kashmir. Discussions also focused on strengthening the party structure and assessing the prevailing political situation in the Union Territory.
The meeting comes at a time when political parties in Jammu and Kashmir are intensifying internal consultations amid growing debate over governance, restoration of statehood and other key political issues.
Senior leaders exchanged views on the party’s future course of action and strategies for greater public outreach across the region, sources said.
