New Delhi, June 22: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rejected as “fake” a viral video circulating on social media that claimed the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination paper had been leaked ahead of the test.
The agency said the video was deliberately created to mislead students and parents and spread unnecessary panic among candidates appearing for the country’s largest medical entrance examination. NTA clarified that the re-examination was conducted successfully under strict security arrangements and no credible complaint regarding any paper leak was received.
In an official statement, the agency urged candidates and guardians not to trust or share unverified content circulating on social media platforms. It reiterated that multiple safeguards, including enhanced surveillance and monitoring mechanisms, were put in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.
The NTA has also initiated a probe into the origin of the misleading video and said appropriate action would be taken against those responsible for spreading misinformation. The agency is working with law enforcement authorities to identify individuals behind the fake content.
The NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, conducted on June 21 across thousands of centres in India and abroad, was held amid heightened security following earlier concerns over exam integrity. Officials maintained that the test concluded smoothly and without any major incident.
