Bandipora, Aug 12: Security arrangements have been stepped up across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day, with security forces, including Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and other security agencies, on high alert and monitoring every moment to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of August 15 celebrations.
In Bandipora district, security forces have intensified checking and surveillance as part of the heightened security arrangements. Several checkpoints have been established at key locations, where vehicles and individuals are being checked as part of the security measures.
Security personnel are also maintaining round-the-clock surveillance and monitoring movement at sensitive locations to prevent any untoward incident ahead of Independence Day.
Officials said the security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of people and facilitate the smooth conduct of Independence Day events across the district.
Security forces are also conducting regular patrols and maintaining a close watch on vulnerable and important installations as part of the overall security plan.
The heightened security measures come ahead of August 15, when Independence Day celebrations will be held across Jammu and Kashmir with flag-hoisting ceremonies and other official programmes.
Authorities have urged people to cooperate with security personnel during checking and follow the security guidelines to ensure peaceful celebrations.
