Ganderbal, September 1: A 65-year-old man died after reportedly receiving an electric shock at his residence in the Patidevipora Gogjigund area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Ghulam Ahmad Ganie, son of late Ghulam Mohammad Ganie, a resident of Patidevipora.
According to officials, the incident occurred at the man’s home, following which he was taken for medical attention. However, he was declared dead.
The body was subsequently shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal for medico-legal formalities.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
