Ganderbal, September 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department has entrusted Dr. Showkat Ahmad Bhat, JKAS, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Srinagar, with the additional charge of the post of Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Ganderbal.
The arrangement has been made by the Office of the Transport Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir, following the transfer of the officer previously holding the charge of ARTO Ganderbal.
As per Order No. 16/TC of 2026 dated September 7, 2026, Dr. Showkat Ahmad Bhat will look after the work of ARTO Ganderbal in addition to his existing duties as ARTO Srinagar.
The Transport Commissioner has stated that the temporary arrangement has been made in the interest of administration and public convenience, ensuring that the functioning of the ARTO office in Ganderbal continues smoothly.
According to the order, the arrangement will remain in force until further orders or until a regular arrangement is made by the Government, whichever is earlier.
The order was issued by Vishesh Paul Mahajan, JKAS, Transport Commissioner, J&K, from Transport Bhawan, Bemina, Srinagar.
The latest administrative arrangement is aimed at preventing any disruption in transport-related services in Ganderbal and ensuring that routine official work, including matters concerning vehicle registration, permits, licensing and other transport-related services, continues without interruption.
The assignment of additional charge is temporary in nature and will cease once the Government makes a regular posting or issues further directions in the matter.
