Bandipora, May 28,: Four persons including an elderly man are still languishing in police station for sharing the date of birth of youth accused of raping a 3 year old girl at Tirgam Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Pertinently, police station Sumbal registered an FIR vide number 83/2019 under section 153,505B on May 12 after some people on social media posted the date of certificate of rape accused. In a swift action, police arrested four persons who according to reports are still languishing at police station.
Advocate Muhammad Shafi Bhat told news agency that among the four arrested person one is an elderly person Muhammad Iqbal Wani (60). “I have applied for his bail and hopefully he will be released. The irony is that some top officials too shared the dob of the accused but they were not touched,” he said added that he has submitted the screenshots of those officials before the court who uploaded it on their twitter accounts.
