Environment in Kashmir very positive: Union Min Naqvi

Srinagar, Jan 22 : Union Minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Wednesday said that the environment in Jammu and Kashmir was positive and the government will reach out to the people and inform them about the change.

Naqvi visited commercial Hub Lal Chowk this morning at around 10:45 AM and interacted with street vendors who had installed their stalls at Mecca Market and also the shopkeepers outside market. The traders presented bouquets to the minister and greeted him on the occasion.

The Union Minister who is on a two-day visit to Srinagar, said that the government in the present atmosphere in Kashmir will reach out to the people and inform them about the change post abrogation of Article 370.

The vendors at Mecca market apprised the about the problems they are facing and demanded permanent place for them to run their businesses.

Meanwhile, Naqvi while talking to reporters said that the government in centre is committed to overall development of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “People are very enthusiastic and the environment in Kashmir is positive,” he said.

He further stated that “in this positive environment, we will reach out to the people and inform them about the change post abrogation of Article 370.”

Meanwhile, a tight security arrangement was made in and around Lal Chowk since Wednesday morning.

Witnesses said that the police and government forces were deployed in strength in and around Lal Chowk since the wee hours of this morning.

Naqvi, was accompanied by Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor Farooq Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr. Shahid Iqbal and other officials.
