Sopore, April 08 : An army soldier was injured in an ongoing gunfight at Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
An official told Kashmir Despatch an army solder sustained injuries during the exchange of fire in an ongoing gunfight at Gul Abad area of Arampora Sopore.
The injured soldier was rushed to MI hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be stable officer said.
Officer added, no militant body has been recovered so far as operation is underway.
Reports said a residential house was damaged during the fierce gunfight between two sides.
Earlier, Army’s 22 RR , SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Gul Abad area following inputs about the presence of militants movement in the area.
Meanwhile authorities suspended Internet services in Sopore town as a precautionary measure in wake of this encounter.
