All Banks to remain closed in Buffer zones : DC Bandipora

Bandipora : Deputy commissioner Bandipora on Thursday evening ordered closure of all banks who are serving in red and buffer zone areas in north Kashmir’s Bandipora District as a precautionary measure.

In an order copy which lies with Kashmir Despatch reads To strengthen the containment measures in containment zones, 1, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, KAS, District Magistrate, Bandipora, in exercise of powers vested in me under Section-144 Cr.PC, read with Section-34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005, & Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, do hereby order that all Bank Branches of all Banks operating in the limits of containment zones (both Red and Buffer Zones), as per Annexure-A, shall remain closed, with Immediate effect, till further orders. Moreover, Lead District Manager, Bandipora shall make necessary arrangement for doorstep delivery of cash by deploying adequate mobile cash dispensing machines through BC’s/ representative of bank in these areas with all precautions necessary for social distancing and personal protection of the staff, as per SOP. Any violation in the above directions shall attract punitive proceedings and action under Section-188 IPC and Section-51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act, 2005. Sr. Superintendent of Police, Bandipora shall implement the complete lockdown measures as envisaged above in the District. Issued today on 16th of April, 2020, under my seal and signature order copy reads.

Pertinently, Bandipora has been declared as hotspot of COVID-19 as till date 66 cases have been reported in the area including a deceased.
