Policeman tests positive, tally soars to 12 in Budgam

Budgam, Apr 16 : A policeman was tested positive for deadly Coronavirus in Rathsuna village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, taking the total toll of cases to 12 across the district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials told news agency— that one more person, who is professionally a police man has been tested positive for COVID-19 in Rathsuna area of Budgam district.

“A police man, hailing from Rathsuna  Budgam has been tested positive. Reportedly, he had come in contact with some Tableegi Jamat members at Bemina. We have started contact tracing and soon will be sent for tests,” Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Budgam, Dr Nazir Ahmad told.

“The cop is posted at India Reserve Police (IRP) 3rd Battalion at Bemina Srinagar. Though, he didn’t attend any religious event organized by Tableegi Jamat but came into contact with them in Srinagar,” Dr Nazir said.

He said that the patient has been referred to isolation ward at JVC Bemina—(KNO)
