Indo-Pak armies trade gunfire along LOC in Uri

Uri, August 16: India and Pakistan armies on Sunday exchanged gunfire along the line of control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said the firing erupted along the LoC in Kamalkote area of Uri in the morning.

In the cross border shelling one cow was killed, however no other damage to any property was reported.

An army official also confirmed this cross border shelling to Kashmir Despatch, he said Pakistan initiated an Unprovoked Ceasefire Violation (CFV) today along the LoC in Kamalkote, Kundi and Birjala Sector, Uri in the morning hours by firing Mortars and other weapons.

He said the Indian Army gave a befitting response to the ceasefire violation.
