Militant killed in ongoing Handwara gunfight

Srinagar, Aug 19: A militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight at Ganipora Kralgund area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that one militant has been killed so far in the initial stage of a gunfight. He however said that operation is underway.

Earlier a joint team of Army’s 32 RR, SOG, and CRPF sealed the area following specific inputs about the presence of militants movement.

This is the second gunfight in a day, earlier a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant was killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Molu Chitragam area of Shopian district on Wednesday
