Ahead of DDC elections: Multiple CASO’s launched across Sopore

SOPORE, Nov 22: From the last several days, scores of youth have been questioned by security forces during Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) that have been launched ahead of Ddistrict Development Council (DDC) elections in several areas of Sopore town.

However, the police officials bave said that some youth have been taken under preventive detention for smooth conduct of upcoming DDC elections.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch revealed that several youth have been called by police and army after laying Cordon and Search Operation in multiple areas of Sopore town.

A senior police official told Kashmir Despatch: “Everyone is well aware of the upcoming DDC elections and we are making sure that elections are held without any trouble”.

He added, “Security forces have called several youths in Sopore area for questioning who had been involved in many cases and police is looking into all angles so that DDC elections are held smoothly without any trouble.”
