Baramulla, Dec 24: Advocate Irfan Hafiz Lone who won District Development Council (DDC) election from Sangrama constituency of Baramulla district on Thursday said he will support Peoples Alliance of Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) as its main focus is to fight for the “restoration of Article 370”.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, Lone said that his primary focus shall be on the efforts to restore Article 370 and 35A to J&K which was revoked by Central government last year on August 5, causing immense problems to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He added, “I will fight along with the people of Sangrama to readdress their issues in every manner but my prime focus will be on how to restore Article 370.”
Lone added that the reason for him to contest the DDC election was to fight against the “agenda” of Bharatiya Janata Party and he will continue to do so.
Pertinently, Advocate Irfan Hafiz Lone won Sangrama Constituency by defeating Apni Party Candidate Shoaib Lone during the DDC elections.
Lone said that PAGD is an amalgam of different parties who may have failed in redressing the problems of people during their stints in power but right now it is the time to rely on this political formation to secure larger political interests of the J&K.
“I agree with you when you pinpoint their follies but they can be accounted for those failures at an appropriate time. This is the time to be united to regain J&Kashmir lost special status,” he added.
