Uri, Mar 06 : Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday claimed to have recovered a pocket of heroine like susbstnaces in border town Uri.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that police efforts to blot out the menace of drugs from the society, Uri Police recovered contraband from Gowhallan.
He said a naka was established by Incharge camp along with Police party of Uri at Sangana Gowhallan.
The officer said that on yesterday during checking and searching one suspicious person who was coming from Gowhallan towards Sangana tried to hide his presence and to fled away.
The suspicious movement was noticed by the police party and the person was chased and apprehended.
The officer added that on questioning he disclosed his name as Mohammad Altaf son of Abdul Hamid of Gowhallan.
During his personal search one packet of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard Case FIR NO 20/2021 us 8/ 21 NDPS Act stands registered in PS Uri ,accused person has been arrested and investigation taken up the officer added.
