The Sopore Councilor Irfan Ali Tuesday said that the old Subhana stadium situated right in the heart of the Sopore town will be developed on modern lines.
“It is great news for people of Sopore especially for sports lovers that the Subhana Stadium will be developed on modern lines. Yesterday, I met Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Dheeraj Gupta on the sidelines of a meeting and we discussed the importance of sports stadium for the youth and sports lovers,” Irfan said.
He said that Subhana Stadium holds a great place in the hearts of sports lovers who used to spend their maximum time playing and refreshing in early years.
As per the reports, the stadium is in shambles from last many years due to lackadaisical approach of the administration.
“During the meeting, I took the approval from Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development. He assured that very soon DPR for Subhana stadium will be finalised and work will be started on it’s renovations,” Irfan added.
He appealed the youth of Sopore to participate in sports activities as it not only helps you in the development of physical health but also mental health.
