Kulgam, July 28th : A cloudburst struck the Dardgund area of Devsar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday, causing a local stream (nallah) to overflow after getting blocked, resulting in the submergence of a residential house.
Officials said the affected house belongs to Wasim Ahmad. Soon after the incident, personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) launched a rescue operation and safely evacuated all family members to a secure location.
The SDRF team later cleared the blockage in the stream, restoring its normal flow and preventing any further damage or threat to nearby residential areas.
No loss of life was reported in the incident.
