Baramulla : Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday claimed to have arrested seven drug peddlers in the district.
An official in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said on specific information regarding trafficking of drugs in town Baramulla, Baramulla Police under the supervision of Syed Sajad Ahmad-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by Inspr. Showkat Ahmad Shah, SHO PS Baramulla arrested 04 drug peddlers who were identified as Mohd Safeer Jagwal son of Ab Raheem resident of Bandi Sarai Uri, Ab Rashid Bhat son of Mohd Sultan resident of Saripora Rafiabad, Mohd Yousuf Gojri son of Mohd Rajab of Mohalla Syed Karim Baramulla and Aijaz Ahmad Rather son of Gh Mohd resident of Magraypora Wussan Pattan at Nanak Bhawan Baramulla and recovered 970 grams of Herione like substance from their possession.
Similarly, Baramulla Police arrested 3 more drug peddlers identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani son of Sonaullah resident of Drangbal Baramulla A/P Poshbagh Fatehpora , Lattef Shah son of Habeeb Shah resident of Garkote Uri and Shahid Majeed Bhat son of Ab Majeed resident of Mohalla Mir Sahib Baramulla at Dewanbagh Baramulla and recovered 300 grams of Herion like substance from their possession.
It is pertinent to mention here that these drug peddlers were selling drugs among the youth of Town Baramulla and its surrounding areas and is major setback to the drug peddlers in Baramulla Town.
Case under NDPS Act registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation set in motion the statement further reads.
