Visit’s slain ASI’s home in Kupwara

KUPWARA, Sep 18: Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh on Saturday said that police and security forces will continue their untiring fight against terrorism in J&K.
Talking to media persons as per Kashmir Despatch correspondent, the DGP said that the people in Jammu and Kashmir are satisfied with the way the police and security forces are working in tandem and that is why they completely support the security grid.
He said that terror activities have declined significantly in Kashmir by the efforts and hard work of police, security agencies and efforts will be on to make a peaceful environment in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The police chief said that since the past several months many successful security operations have been conducted that caused a decline in militancy in the region.
Mr. Singh further said that the situation is more conducive and peaceful than in the past and will improve in coming times.
The DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar, SSP Kupwara Mr. Sandeep and other senior police officers of the district who visited the home of slain cop’s in Kupwara.
Pertinently, ASI Arshid Farooq was shot dead by suspected militants while being on duty in Srinagar last week.
The DGP condoled the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with it and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He assured that full support would be provided to the family of the martyr.
