Since 1971, this hamlet is ignored to hilt

BANDIPORA : In 1971 when India and Pakistan were busy fighting each other; revenue officials in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district were busy relocating 18 households who had lost everything to a devastating fire incident.
There was not much space left in the village to accommodate these families so they required a new space for habitation.
Mohammad Shabaan Dar, one of the family heads who lost his home to the conflagration actually named the relocated part as ‘Bangladesh’— (comparing it to the creation of Bangladesh that year).
It eventually became the popular name for this village even though revenue records still see it as an extension of Zorimanz village of Bandipora district.
