Dejected and disillusioned people looking towards NC with hope: Sakina Itoo

Date:

Srinagar,18 June: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference State Secretary Sakina Itoo on Saturday asked the party workers to galvanize their rows against the forthcoming challenges and remain cautious of the forces who are trying to portray themselves as well wishers of Kashmiris

She made these comments while addressing a workers convention in DK Marg, Kulgam. Party leader and MP Anantnag Hasnain Masoodi was the chief guest on the occasion. Among others, DDC members, local unit functionaries were also present.

Cautioning the party functionaries about the nefarious communal designs of anti J&K forces, Sakina Itoo said that the communal and the regional harmony are key to the region’s development. “J&K is suffering from political, developmental, economic inertia, which have been compounded by the Covid19 pandemic and the prevailing bureaucratic rule,” she added.

She further lamented that the communal forces of the country are taking the region towards a dangerous situation by pursuing a narrow and divisive brand of politics.

Debunking the GOIs development claims, she said, “There has been no effort to leverage J&K’s potential to widen its prosperity and social security of its populace. Every single opportunity has been left unutilized to alleviate people’s sufferings. People of South Kashmir, particularly those from DH Pora region have been the worst sufferers. The administration is living in denial and has left people to fend for themselves,” he said.

“The unemployment is on the rise and the educated unemployed youth are undergoing a phase of despair,” she said, adding, “The trend needs to be arrested by opening up vistas of opportunities in terms of employment generation and recruitment on fast track basis.”
