Bandipora July 29: With an aim of providing basic medical and health facilities to people residing in remote areas, the Indian Army organized a medical camp under Operation Sadbhavana at Jurniyal, a remote village of Gurez Valley in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.
During the camp, medical requirements of local population to include 103 women and 47 children were addressed and free medical advice and medicines were provided to the attendees from remote villages.
Army Doctors and Nursing Assistance provided treatment to all patients hailing from far flung areas with inadequate Medical facilities. The medical camp witnessed an overwhelming response from locals and around 205 persons from surrounding villages availed the benefit of free medical advice and medicine during the Camp.
A health awareness lecture on good health and hygiene including preventive measures against ailments like Covid-19, Jaundice, Malaria, viral Hepatitis and common fever was also conducted on the occasion by the Medical Officer of Army.
Appreciating the steps taken by the Indian Army to provide basic health facilities in far-flung areas, the villagers requested that more such medical camps should be organized across Gurez Valley on a regular basis.
