Srinagar : Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad, senior leader and former MLC Mohammad Amin Bhat have resigned from the party posts including the primary membership of congress.
Sources told Kashmir Despatch Azad has sent his resignation letter to the Congress president Sonia Gandhi days after he resigned from the organisational post of Jammu and Kashmir citing health issues.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and former MLC Mohammad Amin Bhat also resigned from the party and welcomed the decision of Azad.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch he said: “Jis Congress main izzat nahin us Congress main keoun rehna. (Can’t remain in Congress that doesn’t give respect to its leadership and cadres). I welcome Azad saheb’s decision and I salute his visionary leadership. I have also left Congress. “
