Baramulla, Sep 23: Police have attached a double-storeyed residential house here in connection with a terror-related case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, officials said on Wednesday.
The property, located on Survey No. 423 at Village Namblan in Sheeri area of Baramulla district, belongs to accused Aijaz Ahmad Ganie, son of Late Mohammad Sultan Ganie, they said.
The attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the UAPA in connection with FIR No. 37/2026 of Police Station Sheeri, which has been registered under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UAPA, a police spokesperson said.
“During the course of investigation, the property was found, prima facie, to have been used for providing shelter and logistical support to terrorists and facilitating terrorist activities, thereby attracting the relevant provisions of the UAPA concerning proceeds of terrorism,” the spokesperson said.
The attachment was effected after obtaining approval from the Director General of Police, J&K, conveyed vide Order No. 2695 of 2026 dated September 22, 2026, officials said.
A public notice has also been displayed at the property, prohibiting its sale, transfer, lease, mortgage or creation of any third-party interest, they added.
Police said the action is part of their sustained efforts to disrupt and dismantle the logistical and support infrastructure of terror networks and to proceed against persons and properties found involved in facilitating terrorist activities in accordance with law.
“The Baramulla Police reiterates its commitment to safeguarding public security and taking firm, lawful action against terror networks and their support structures,” the spokesperson said.
