SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ravender Raina said on Thursday that he will not allow anyone to go for open market sale of beer or any other illegal liquor in Jammu and Kashmir union territory.
While answering a question regarding an order by virtue of which beer will be made available in the departmental stores, Raina as per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent said that nobody is selling the beer in open market and no one will be allowed to do so.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Jammu and Kashmir administration earlier this month approved a proposal to authorize departmental stores to sell beer and other ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages in urban areas.
Raina also reacted to former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement regarding the dialogue with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue and said that why to talk with the “killers”?
“We will talk with the youth of Kashmir, the people of Kashmir, we will talk with kids of Kashmir, which was also started by union home minister Amit Shah in Baramulla. Why should we talk or negotiate with the killers of Kashmiris?”
Raina also reacted to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s detention, saying it’s none of his business and he can’t do anything about it. He said the matter is in the court of law, and the court will decide it. Raina said neither he nor the court can put someone behind bars or take them out without any reasonable ground.
