Sanctorum emerged as runner-up in Inter School Football Tournament held at WHS Ground

Srinagar, Nov. 05: After defeating a number of teams, Sanctorum Public School Lalad Sopore finished as the runner-up in the interschool football tournament. At WHS Ground, the football event was put up by Manchester Consultancy and WHS Sports Hub Srinagar.

Sanctorum and Tyndale Biscoe Srinagar squared up in the game’s finale, which Biscoe won 1-0.

The young Sanctorum team had numerous chances but was unable to score any goals from those chances.

In this tournament top schools of the valley were playing including Burn Hall School , Biscoe, DPS Srinagar, DPS Budgam, Woodland School, SRM Welkin, Green Valley Srinagar, Sanctorum Public School, Army School, Kashmir Harvard,KV No 1 Srinagar l, St.Pauls and Iqbal Memorial Srinagar.

Sanctorum was one of the two North Kashmiri schools selected for this tournament. SRM Welkin was the other school.

Earlier in the tournament Sanctorum Defeated DPS Budgam by 3-1, KV No 1 by 2-0, Burn Hall 2-0 to reach the finals.

Owais Zahoor From Sanctorum was awarded as Man of The Tournament.

It is pertinent to mention that Sanctorum was second time runner up in this month
In Srinagar.

“The school team is growing day by day and all facilities are provided by the School Management to the athletes,” the school team coach said.

He said that the team is going to participate in the upcoming Inter School Football Tournament in Jammu next month where top school teams of Valley and Jammu will be playing.

“With this winning streak and performance of this team, school kids are getting attracted towards this game and this is a positive sign to keep students away from drugs,” the coach added.

Shakir Ashraf, Managing Director of Sanctorum, said, “We are providing these athletes with all facilities and hope they will take their game forward in a positive way.”
