‘Kashmir issue cannot be solved through force’

Baramulla, Nov 30 : Former minister Taj Mohiuddin on Wednesday appealed to the youth of Kashmir to stay away from gun culture and fight for their rights in a democratic way.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a party function in North Kashmir’s Kunzar, Taj, as per Kashmir Despatch correspondent, said that the Kashmir issue can never be solved through guns and that those youth who have picked up guns should shun them and fight peacefully for their rights and for peaceful Kashmir.
He said nobody is going to understand the language of the gun, so it’s better for youth to come into the mainstream and fight in a democratic manner.
“Ghulam Nabi Azad, the party’s president, has also appealed to the youth that gun culture has devastated J&K and has urged those who have picked up guns that it is not the solution and that they should fight for their rights peacefully, just as Gandhi never took a sword.”
Taj said the Democratic Azad Party’s stand is clear and it wants statehood to be restored before the assembly elections in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the party also fights for the ownership rights of J&K’s land, besides the eligibility of J&K residents for government jobs.
