Anantnag,25-Feb:- Unknown miscreants chopped down more than two thousand apple trees in the Moman Danjipora area of Bijbhera South Kashmir’s Anantnag District, causing distress among the local residents.
Locals said that the apple orchards are their only source of livelihood. “Dozens of families are dependent on these trees, and the chopping down of the trees has created tremendous panic among the locals,” they told the news agency CNS.
Locals urged DC Anantnag Dr Bashrat Qayoom, SDM Bijbhera Tanveer Ahmad, and SHO Rashid Khan to look into the matter and apprehend the perpetrators as soon as possible.
They demand that strict action be taken against such individuals so that, in the future, such incidents can be prevented. (CNS).
