BANDIPORA, Feb 27: The inhabitants of Madwan village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday demanded establishment of a business unit of JK bank in the area in order to ease out the sufferings of the inhabitants of the area.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, few senior citizens of the area said that the authorities had assured them of a branch of JK Bank in their area at an earliest but the assurances as per the locals proved a hoax on ground till date.
Residents including traders of Madwan, Gund Prang, Mukhdamyari villages of Hajin Sonawari area today assembled in the Madwan area and demanded setting up of a bank branch in the area.
“We are facing tremendous hardships in the absence of the JK Bank branch in the area. We are being forced to cover a lot of distance to reach bank branches like Hajin, Sadunara resulting in wastage of time and money,” Bashir Ahmad a local resident said.
Locals appealed Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and the concerned authorities of JK Bank to look into the matter and address their grievances it as soon as possible, so that the people in the area do not suffer anymore.
