Aarifeen School of Excellence (ASE) celebrates World Environment Week

Baramulla June, 13: With lockdown in place and schools closed due to Caronovirus pandemic, Aarifeen school of Excellence, Delina Baramulla observed World Environment Week encouraging its students to safeguard the environment.

The celebrations were quite different this year but the online celebrations with kids participating enthusiastically were worth applause. The main aim to celebrate the world environment week was to encourage the children to provide their best irrespective of the situations around them. 


ASE educators said that it is tough to watch world coming to a standstill due to COVID-19 but we must not stop doing good things rather we must encourage all especially our students to work for a better world. 


The management emphasized upon the parents to encourage their wards to plant a tree, help them in cleaning the surroundings and watering plants, use biodegradable material and shun the use of plastics. The students were asked to share the activities of save environment slogans, planting trees, cleaning the surroundings, drawings/paintings related to environment, watering plants, beat plastic pollution activities through recorded videos and pictures.


World environmental day is celebrated on 5th June every year all over the world. Major significance of celebrating this day is to spread awareness about environmental issues and to protect it.


ASE Coordinator Ms Sandra Mak said that to show care and support for the earth and environment ASE celebrated the week as Environment Week. 
“As a matter of care, we need to reinforce from an early age a strong sense of responsibility and duty to care for our environment and encourage them to take part in activities that lead to the preservation of our beautiful planet,” she added.
