Sopore : Abdul Majeed Mir on Sunday was elected as President of Tata Sumo Owners Union Taxi Stand Number 1 in north Kashmir’s Sopore, besides Abdul Rashid Doobi as General Secretary.
As per details available two candidates were in fray for the post of President.
Abdul Majeed Mir got 49 votes while his opposite candidate Irshad Ahmad Dar got 34.
On the occasion Abdul Rashid Doobi was also elected as General Secretary for the union.
The elections were held under free and fair manner under the supervision of Chowki Officer Aijaz Ahamd, Industrial President Javeed Bhat.
