Srinagar, July 28 : Police claimed to have arrested an on the run drug peddler after three months in north Kashmir Sopore town.
In a statement here, a police official identified the arrestee as Muzaffar Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Sultan Shah residence of Adipora Sopore.
The accused is wanted in case with FIR Number 112/2019 U/S 8/22 NDPS act, the statement said.
The accused, as per the statement, was produced before the Additional Sessions Judge Sopore from where he had been sent to district jail Kupwara.
According to the statement, on 3rd of May Sopore Police seized a huge consignment of drugs (spasmoproxivan capsules) and on spot arrested one person Mohammad Shafi Lone son of Abdul Rashid Lone a resident of Nadihal Rafiabad. However two persons managed to escape from the spot one among the two Arshid Farooq Lone (juvenile) son of Farooq Ahmad Lone a resident of Saidpora Rafiabad, who as per the statement, was arrested later on by Jammu police along with his father as the duo were allegedly carrying drugs in their truck.
Muzaffer Ahmad Shah alais Nundshah the kingpin, who has already spoiled the lives of many youth of the town was evading arrest since 3 May 2019. He was put under surveillance, technical assistance was taken too, which showed that he travelled to lot of places (Delhi, Jammu) and did not stay in the Sopore town for almost 3 months. The moment he stepped in the town, he was arrested by Sopore police however the challan against him was already produced before honourable court Sopore, the statement added.
