ACB Files Disproportionate Assets Cases, Conducts Searches

Jammu, Feb 15 : The Anti Corruption Bureau has registered FIRs against Ameet Kumar Koul, Inspector(S), and Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.

An official said that FIR No.01/2024 u/s 13(1) (b) of PC Act 1988 has been filed against Inspector(S) Ameet Kumar Koul at the Central Branch of ACB Jammu.

He said this FIR is based on the findings of a Secret Verification, which revealed that the officer is in possession of assets that cannot be accounted for through his known sources of income.

Similarly, FIR No.02/2024 u/s 13(1)(b) r/w 13(2) of PC Act 1988 has been registered at the ACB Jammu against Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma. This FIR is a result of an Enquiry conducted into allegations that Sharma has accumulated disproportionate assets in relation to his income.

As part of the ongoing investigation, searches were conducted at the residential homes of both officials, as well as the business establishments of HC Rajinder Kumar Sharma. During these searches, incriminating documents and valuable items were seized and will be scrutinized further as part of the investigation he said.

The official further added that the ACB is continuing its investigation into both cases.
