Accused of Acid attack must get examplary punishment: Iqbal Jaan

Srinagar: Senior BJP leader and vice president incharge Sumbal Sonawari constituency Mohd Iqbal Jaan has strongly condemned acid attack on young Srinagar girl and demanded examplary punsihment to the accused.

Iqbal appreciated the role of police for arresting three accused youths within 24 hours of prepetration of henious crime.

“Jammu and Kashmir police indeed has done a commendable job by putting the accused behind the bars. But I want examplary punishment to the accused involved in the commission of this henious crime. This is simply an inhuman act,” said Iqbal

“There must be a thorough investigation into the deplorable act on fast track basis. The accused must be given stern punishment so that such deplorable and inhuman incidents do not occur in society in future,” he added.

The senior BJP leader said that society must join hands and act collectively against such inhuman acts.

In Jammu and Kashmir also, the sale of acid must be ensured as per the already issued guidelines of honourable Supreme Court. And those found in violation of norms must be booked and punished,” said Iqbal.

“I also urge parents to guide their children so that they choose the right path and stay away from social ills,” he added.
