Sopore : President of the Municipal Council Sopore Masarat Rasool Kar Sunday said that additional charges and extra work load of ADC Sopore is the main reason for the underdevelopment of the town.
Addressing a Press Conference she said that overall development in town is going at a snail’s pace and the reason for this is mainly due to the additional charges put on the shoulders of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore who is also holding the charge of MC Sopore.
She said that due to his extra work load and busy schedule, there is a visible sign of underdevelopment in the town.
Masrat said that since ADC Sopore also holds the charges of MC Sopore, he should be present in the office for at least two hours a day to check the pending works in the department.
“When officers are not present in the office, how can there be any developmental work. Absence of higher officials in any department affects the timely execution of the work,” Masrat added.
Last week MC Sopore President along with street vendors protested at Iqbal Market Sopore and demanded a speedy redressal of the issue so that the department will not suffer.
