Sopore, Feb 11 : The newly elected councilors on Thursday met Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore and sought his help for making Sopore a green, clean and a developed town.
Sources told Kashmir Despatch that newly elected councilors met ADC in his office and shared the problems and issues pertaining to common masses in the town. The development came after the councillors met Director Urban Local Body at his Srinagar office on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the councillors discussed several issues with ADC including garbage dumping site, issues at MC Sopore and other problems faced by the common masses of the town.
A councilor who was part of the delegation that met ADC Sopore said that the main motive behind this meeting was to make the township adminstration aware of the problems faced by the common masses here at Sopore.
“As the elected representatives, it is our duty to come forward and help people in all possible ways. We feel the pain of common masses here in Sopore who have witnessed political apathy as well as lackadaisical approach of administration times and again. The people of Sopore elected us and now it is out turn to help them in best possible ways. Meeting ADC was one such step for the development of our area,” the councilor told Kashmir Despatch.
The councillors reiterated that time has changed now and development of Sopore is on cards.
“We believe every single resident of Sopore will fight for his own cause and it was seen during elections when people in large came forward and casted their vote to their favorite candidate,” the councilors added.
