AGH wiped out from Kashmir: J&K DGP

The Jammu and Kashmir police chief Dilbag Singh on Wednesday said that following the killing of three militants in Pulwama district in south Kashmir Ansar-Gazwat-ul Hind affiliated to Al Qaeda has come to an end.

Singh said the trio were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Rajpora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir. The slain militants have been identified as  Lelhari and his associates Junaid Rashid and Naveed.

“AGH group has been wiped out for now. But then they have overground workers network from whom some people emerge to become militants,” Economic Times quoted Police officials as saying.

Ansar-Gazwat-ul Hind was nowadays being provided the support by Pakistan’s Jaish-e-Mohammed, and two to three militants of the group are still active, the report added.
