SRINAGAR, May 23: The senior socio-political leader and former Executive Councillor (EC) of the then LAHDC Kargil, Agha Abbas Rizvi called on prominent religious and social leader Maulana Mirza Yasoob Abbas in Srinagar, where the two leaders held an important and meaningful meeting to discuss a wide range of political, social, religious, and public issues concerning the people of Kargil and the larger interests of the community and the nation.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the political and social challenges faced by the people of the Union Territory of Kargil Ladakh, regional development, protection of public rights, educational progress, youth-related concerns, and the prevailing situation in the region. Both leaders emphasized that the constitutional, democratic, and fundamental rights of the people of Kargil must be protected under all circumstances.

The leaders also expressed concern over the alleged attempts to bring demographic changes in Kargil. They stated that the people of the region would never accept any effort aimed at harming the historical, cultural, and religious identity of Kargil. Stressing the importance of preserving the unique heritage and traditions of the region, they said that the identity, culture, and rights of the local population must remain safeguarded and respected at all times.

The meeting further focused on the need for justice, equal opportunities, and balanced development in the region. Both leaders underlined that the aspirations and sentiments of the people should be respected and that public welfare, educational upliftment, and social progress must remain key priorities.

Apart from regional matters, extensive deliberations were also held regarding the current situation in the Muslim world, the rapidly changing developments in the Middle East, and the challenges confronting the Muslim Ummah following the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader. Both leaders observed that the present circumstances demand unity, solidarity, and mutual understanding among Muslims. They stressed that sectarian harmony, brotherhood, and the protection of common community interests are among the most important needs of the time.

During the meeting, it was also agreed that various joint programs, seminars, awareness campaigns, and public gatherings would be organized across the Kargil region in the near future. These initiatives would focus on promoting social awareness, educational development, youth guidance, moral values, and communal unity, with the aim of strengthening awareness, understanding, and constructive participation among the public.

Finally the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue joint efforts for the greater interests of the community, the protection of the rights and identity of the people of Kargil, and the resolution of public issues through unity, dialogue, and collective action.
